About the event
Posters of all varieties have a long history in letterpress printing, from giant circus ads to protest posters. Come peruse our large wood type library and spell out your favorite short quote or saying!
There will be some light typesetting instruction, but mostly we’ll play with ink and type and see what you come up with.
No experience necessary!
The class is taught by Thom Caraway, the designer and publisher for Rock & Sling and Trochaic Press. He has designed over 50 books and magazines, and teaches courses in editing, book design, and publishing at Whitworth University. He has been working in letterpress printing since 2016, and is a founder of the SPPC.
