About the event
Learn some basic elements of poetry writing, as we explore the wonderful world of form and sound! After a brief talk on the subject and some discussion, students will work on some writing exercises with the goal of finishing a draft of a poem by the end of our session. We’ll explore traditional forms like the sonnet and ghazal and the more musical elements of language: assonance, alliteration, rhyme and meter, etc.
